Job Summary:
BAA is seeking an experienced Controls and Software Engineer who can create software and controls requirements and develop test plans from the requirements and implement them in the Simulink test environment. These would be within the context of complex control, signal processing and diagnostic systems for internal combustion engines. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate collaboration within a team environment.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Develop software controls and diagnostic requirements for internal combustion engine controls derived from translated customer requirements and design specifications.
Develop and implement software controls and diagnostics test plans at the unit and system level for internal combustion engine controls. These shall validate compliance with Software Requirements, Interface Agreements and design standards.
Direct requirements into a structured requirements management tool (Windchill)
Create Software Change Requests as required.
Conduct cross-functional design reviews and document them.
Troubleshoot failures back to Root Cause.
Required Skills:
Experience and proficiency in model-based software development using MATLAB and Simulink including the application of simulation models.
Experience writing software requirements and using requirements management tools such as Windchill RV&S (formerly PTC Integrity).
Working knowledge of Gitlab tool a plus
Understanding of engine mechanical systems, especially fuel systems a plus.
Experience with software configuration management tools.
Proficient in the use of MS Excel (required), MS Office, MS Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Proficient in the use of basic statistics and data analysis techniques including Minitab, MATLAB, and other tools.
Education Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree is required. Electrical engineering or computer science with embedded controls development focus or mechanical engineering with actual software and controls experience.
