Job Summary and Requirements

The Service Engineer will be responsible for applying their Electronics background along with their knowledge of engine and engine systems to develop Service Publications and technical documentation.  Service Publications can include Troubleshooting and Repair Manuals, Owners Manuals, Operations and Maintenance manuals, as well as other technical bulletins and information.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities -

  • Develop Service Publications that can be used by the customer to operate, service and repair their engine

  • Develop troubleshooting instructions, diagnostics procedures and wiring diagrams

  • Support validation activities for the diagnostic procedures

  • Utilize feedback from multiple sources to develop or improve diagnostic solutions and publications

  • Develop required Service tools or procedures to Service the engine or address failures

Desired Skills -

  • Knowledge of Electronic Components (sensors, ECM's), Controls and electrical systems and how they interact

  • Knowledge of engines and their associated systems (Controls, Electronics, Fuel Systems, Air Handling, After-treatment, Powertrain, Vehicle systems)

  • Knowledge of electronic tools such as an oscilloscope, multi-meter, signal generator, etc

  • Experience with Service Publications, Technical writing / documentation

Education Requirements

BS in Engineering or Technology desired (Other degree types and suitable experience will be considered).  Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology degree a plus.
