BAA is seeking a dynamic Mechanical Design Engineer having experience with CAD and the creation of mechanical designs for engines or industrial equipment. The role requires coordinating with multiple other teams to design brackets, mountings, and fuel line routing on multiple diesel engines. Those designs would require creation in Creo CAD software. Our expectation is to have a candidate with honesty, consistency, and a passion for learning and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and will collaborate well within a team environment as that is a key function of the job.
Job Requirements
Mechanical Designer Key Responsibilities:
Design and route high-pressure and low-pressure fuel lines, pumps, filters, and brackets on diesel engines
Create 3D drawings for those designs
Create the necessary documentation and support engineering release
Lead design reviews and Advice team management on project status, timing, resource availability and capability
Insure proper integration of the fuel system components with the engine
Support analysis of the fuel line by the Applied Mechanics Teams
Assess buildability and manufacturability of the fuel lines and the system
Assist in establishing design completion dates
Mechanical Designer Required Skills:
Experience with CAD programs, preferable Creo
Familiarity with engines and engine systems strongly preferred
Experience generating and releasing 3D prints
Ability to complete design tasks individually after project direction is given
Cross-functional design integration skills for neighboring components and sub-systems
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in an accredited Engineering or Engineering Technology curriculum or equivalent preferred
2-5 years Creo 3D CAD experience required
