Job Summary & Requirements
Read and interpret complex emission regulations. Determine applicability of those requirements in terms of impact on customer’s business, including market segments, applications, fuel types, regulated countries, etc. Populate requirements in a structured spreadsheet. Develop ‘plain English’ consolidated or expanded interpretations of requirements. Work with subject matter experts on reviews and agreements regarding the requirements ahead of uploading into customer’s data management system/ requirements management system.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret engine emission regulations found in domestic, country specific and international regulations into technical requirements in language which is easier to understand
Incorporate information required by the customer’s requirements management system into each interpretation
Review interpretations with subject matter experts to align with customer’s processes and products
Upload interpretations into customer’s requirements management system
Desired Skills:
General understanding of engine systems and emissions, on-highway and/or off-highway
Ability to read and interpret complex, legal-language, emission regulations; previous experience with emission regulations a plus
General understanding of automotive markets and applications
Experience with manipulating tabular data in spreadsheets
Knowledge of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools (PTC Integrity) a plus
Education Requirements
BS in Engineering required. 3-4 yrs automotive/engine experience preferred. Knowledge of MS Office package (especially Excel)
