Controls Features Requirements Engineer Job Summary:
The Controls Features Requirements Engineer will be responsible for the creation of feature summary documents for use in a data management system (PTC Windchill). The candidate will have a good understanding of internal combustion engine systems and subsystems, along with controls, and how they all interact. The candidate will be responsible to gather, analyze, synthesize and assemble customer information and specifications around individual features to create requirements documents. An understanding of engines and their electronic controls (like turbochargers, fuel systems, after-treatment systems, cruise control, transmission interfaces, etc.), along with how they interact with systems and subsystems, is critical.

Controls Features Requirements Engineer Key Responsibilities:
Leadership of the feature-related deliverables and activity including:
Deliver work products per customer’s schedule (timing)
Report progress to management and Feature Lead Engineer
Review
Draft feature summary documents for use in customer’s data/requirements management system. This will involve:
Gathering needed information from multiple sources/tools within customer’s organization, including guidance documents and experts
Reviewing, synthesizing and assembling information per customer specifications for use in customer’s data/requirements management system
Review work with BAA SME
Working in customer's data/requirements management system
Reviewing work products with Feature Lead Engineer(s) and team
Modifying work products based on feedback from reviews
Controls Features Requirements Engineer Required Skills
Knowledge of feature-level engineering practices in automotive field
Engine controls architecture
Requirements management, a plus
Excellent English technical writing proficiency
ALM tools (PTC Windchill)
Education Requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
Must have experience of engine systems and subsystems, especially automotive applications, along with controls, and how they interact; 3-5 years’ minimum
