BAA is currently seeking a flexible and self-motivated Automotive Calibration Engineer in Columbus, IN. This position requires someone who is able to perform calibration tuning, verification and validation of embedded Fuel System Specific controls across multiple engine platforms in order to meet program deadlines and quality requirements. The position is responsible for designing, implementing, and executing calibration tuning procedures on bench, fuel system rigs, engines and vehicles. The position is also responsible for designing tools and/or scripts to analyze the outputs for specific results and documenting and reporting the results to the team to help evaluate performance and risk.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities could include some or all of the following:
Embedded Fuel System Calibration, including failed part definition, test plan design, emissions testing on bench, engine/chassis dyno, truck testing, and Matlab/Simulink based simulation work to assure fuel systems software is functioning properly and/or to duplicate problems found by customers.
Develop a detailed understanding of how fuel systems embedded software controls and document that in reports, tuning guides, operation documents, etc.
Enable the use of new fuel system hardware by tailoring and tuning existing calibrations.
Design and calibrate new fuel system control algorithms.
Interface with customer to translate customer needs into technical requirements and develop project scope
Provide periodic progress updates to customer and support gate reviews for customer program management

Classic PID and modern model-based (Kalman filter) control theory; Digital signal processing; Object-oriented design and real-time embedded software
6Sigma design process
Engineering tools (Calterm, Canape)
Good communicator – written and verbal
Education Requirements
BS in Engineering required. Minimum 5 years experience.
Degree in Engineering required (BSME, BSEE, etc.)
3-5 years of relevant work experience preferred
Experience in the automotive industry and specifically experience with engine and fuel systems calibration, and engine and vehicle testing
Hands-on automotive experience through personal/research/work projects is a plus
